We meant the K-S1 as the start of a new lineup as part of an innovation line.

The S stands for “super” or “superior”; something special. The “1” is of course means that this is the first product in the innovation line.

on top of our core line like the K-3 and K-50's

We have two DSLR lines. We call them the 'core' line and 'innovation' line. The core line is represented by the K-3. Good cameras which can be active in the field. These ones target high amateurs. We also have the K-S1 and K-S2, which are categorized as being part of the 'innovation' line.

They have all the Pentax DNA, like weatherproofing and so on but they have a new user interface. We want to get a wider range of customers with these cameras. We don't say 'beginners' but we want to attract people who are stepping up maybe from smartphones and want to get better pictures.

Wenn ihr mal alles lesen würdet und nicht nur, was ihr lesen wollt: Es geht nicht um den Namen, es geht um die Funktionen. Der Name ist nur ein Zeichen dafür, dass sie bewusst weggelassen wurden - weil K-S2 eben kein neuer Name für K-60 ist.

Meine K-S2 ist heute angekommen und der erste Eindruck ist sehr gut. Eine rundum gelungene Kamera, wertig und gut in der Hand liegend. Das Schwenkdisplay und ich werden ganz sicher gute Freunde....

ach ja, Anthrazit sieht wirklich gut aus!

Noch eine Kleinigkeit, die mir gleich aufgefallen ist: wenn man das Display mit dem Deckel nach außen einklappt (prima Displayschutz, nebenbei), wird der Liveview automatisch abgeschaltet.
