On my Pentax Z1P, LCD panel and Viewfinder indications are displayed properly but the moment I press the shutter button, the low battery warning starts blinking, shutter can not be released and all indications (except low battery) in the lcd panel disappear. 6V lithium battery installed in the camera is new. Any help, please.
Thanks for your prompt response. When I pop up the built in flash, low battery warning starts flashing on the lcd panel, all other indications disappear and shutter can not be released.
OK, so it is not very likely that the battery is the root of the issue. So let's analyze what happens, when you press the shutter button: * The camera should activate the autfocus * The camera should activate the meter Conclusion: Either there is really an issue in the electronics, of something is wrong with the AF-moter or mechanism.
To debug the issue further, I would recommend to try pressing the button either with an old manual lens attached or with no lens at all.
Thanks for your response. Looks like electronics problem since when I switch on the camera there is full display on lcd screen but the moment I press shutter button the display goes ( no auto focus/ no metering ) and only battery exhaution symbol blinks on lcd. This happens with/without lens on the camera.
